Cats - no voucher needed

The Economic Veterinary Initiative  EVI - is now partnering with Friends of the Shelter Northern Kentucky residents in our supported counties. You will pay $35 for Spay and $20 for Neuter. Proof of residence is required and it covers owned cats only. They are at 5214 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati 45230. Visit the EVI Website for more information and to schedule: www.evicincinnati.com. We will be billed directly for the difference in cost. You do not need a voucher.

OAR or UCAN - Companion cats who have access to the outside can be fixed through OAR (Ohio Alleycat Resource) or UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic. This is now being subsidized by a grant from the Joanie Bernard Foundation, not Friends of the Shelter, so please contact OAR or UCAN with questions or to schedule. Do not contact us.

Outdoor or community cats can be fixed for free through the OAR or UCAN grant. They will be ear-notched and returned to their outdoor community at no cost to you. Just call your local shelter, OAR or UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic.

Cat or Dog Vouchers

UCAN - Low cost spay/ neuter for dogs and cats is available at UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic by appointment. We can provide you with a $60 - $100 voucher, depending on the size of dog. $60 for cats toward the cost. Appointments are booked several months in advance so apply for the voucher as soon as you have the appointment.

Local Vet - You can also apply for a voucher and use it a local vet or another that we recommend. Depending on the size of the dog, the voucher will be between $60 and $100. Cats are $60. Most vets will take the voucher and bill us for that amount. You pay the difference. Contact your vet for their charges and if they accept our voucher.

To apply for the voucher online, click the cat or dog voucher button below and complete the form. Allow at least two weeks for processing.
